Essex Hunt North Pony Club - Summer Rally 3

Team Berwick XC fences and the course is looking fantastic so we are really grateful to them for allowing us to use this great venue! Our summer rallies run from 10.00-4.00 pm and members are put into groups of similar age and experience. There will be a range of activities – flatwork, cross country, show jumping, working hunter, pole work and gymkhana. All ages and abilities are welcome. There is a lunch break in the middle so please bring a picnic and hay and water for the ponies. At the end of lunch, we hold a short meeting during which Tack and Turnout rosettes are awarded for the best Turned Out in each ride.

What to wear Please dress smartly: a hacking jacket with white shirt and pony club tie Pony Club badge and felt on the left lapel. Beige jods For XC: Body Protectors: The Level 3 blue BETA 2018 standard will be required when riding at any pony club Cross Country, Long sleeves are preferred but as a minimum shoulders must be covered. We recommend either a long-sleeved shirt/EHNPC skin/EHNPC sweatshirt. Please ensure your hats are tagged with a PINK PC hat tag – if not please let a committee member know. For Cross Country a skull cap must be worn, fixed peaks are not allowed. Hat silks – plain black, navy, no pom poms! Hair must be neatly secured preferably in a hairnet – long hair must be tied up. Short jodhpur boots, short jodphur boots and chaps or long riding boots in black or brown No jewellery (watch acceptable) Gloves, if worn, brown, black or navy No hooded clothing or PC Sweatshirts for Tack and Turnout. Ponies should clean and well turned out, in plain tack with dark coloured, plain numnahs, black, brown or navy. If boots are bandages are worn they should be in plain dark colours. Ponies should be PLAITED! Tack must be well fitted and clean. Remember to check your stirrup irons, there should be 7mm clearance either side of your boots which is about a thumb width. ARRIVAL If you have not been to a rally before, come and say hello and we will be pleased to show you where the notice board is so that you can find out whose ride you are in and which arena to go to, so that you can be tacked up and READY FOR TACK & TURNOUT INSPECTION AT 10.00am. A special rosette is awarded to the best turned out combination in each ride during the lunch break.

SUMMER RALLY OVERALL TACK & TURNOUT COMPETITION Over the course of all 4 summer rallies points are awarded and recorded for each members tack and turnout. There is an overall tack and turnout prize which is awarded at our end-of-year prize giving for the member with the most points in their age category.

Please note Berwick Farm operates a one way system on these events, please enter from London Road end (the A113) and exit the Berwick Farm XC by turning Left.
