DINAS POWIS BRANCH OF THE PONY CLUB CAMP SUNDAY 21st JULY – THURSDAY 25th JULY 2024 THE GRANGE, ST BRIDES-SUPER-ELY, CARDIFF Dear members and parents, ALL PONIES / HORSES MUST HAVE AN UP TO DATE FLU VACCINATION. PASSPORTS WILL BE CHECK BEFORE HAND Full Camp 9yrs and over Members 9 and over who ride independently in walk, trot and canter and have attended at last two rallies in the previous year are eligible to attend residential camp. Members may either come daily or may stay. Camp will cost £180. A non-refundable deposit of £50 (including booking fee) to be paid on www.horse-events.co.uk by 19th MAY camp will then be closed. The balance of £130 (including booking fee) to be paid on www.horse-events.co.uk by 1st July. Places are limited. No places will be held without a deposit. Stables / indoor barns spaces will be limited and charged at £25 payable directly to me to Grange Farm Partnership. All members’ ponies should arrive by 4.30pm on Sunday. Please have your ponies hind shoes removed by your own farrier at home before hand. Mares and geldings are turned out in separate fields. Members choosing to come daily must be at camp by 8am and picked up at 9pm Hoses will be turned out in separate mares and geldings fields. All horses being turned out must have their back shoes removed before camp. MINI Camp for younger members Monday 24th July – Thursday 27th Members come daily Mini camp will cost £120 A non-refundable deposit of £50 (including booking fee) to be paid on www.horse-events.co.uk by 19th MAY camp will then be closed. The balance (including booking fee) of £80 to be paid by 1st July. Places are limited. No places will be held without a deposit. Members and their ponies please arrive at 9.30 to ride at 10 am the day will finish about 4pm. Lunch for members included in price. Alternatively younger members may stay with a parent in their own tent / lorry etc. Parents will need an enhanced DBS and will be expected to help lots. Cost will be £180 as per main camp Additional lunches can be purchased at £3 per day. All parents must read the rules and provisions for camp which can be found on the Dinas Powys website or from me. In order to run camp we need lots of help with setting up, dismantling, pony supervision, child supervision (DBS required), transport and catering. We ask that each member attending has an adult to help with these jobs. Please could you give us a day to help during the week? Camp will be set up at 10.30 on Saturday 20th July and one evening during the week before. Lots of help is needed. Would anyone with specific dietary requirements, eg vegetarian, please inform me? Could we stress please that members should be properly turned out when mounted at Camp, to include a shirt, tie, Pony Club or school-type sweater, hairnet, gloves and body protectors where applicable (ie jumping). Camp will be dismantled on Thursday 27th July and parents are requested to make arrangements to collect their children’s possessions as early as possible. Prize giving will take place when camp has been dismantled and put away. Anyone with any queries please speak to me. Liability:  Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

Health and Safety: Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
