The cost is £3.00 per combination.
Commencing at 9am.
Horse and rider combination competing in ring 4 may not enter in classes 1 and 2.
Riders 12 years and under. Jumps 30cm (cross pole). Not to be led or assisted. On completion of a clear round the competitor will, without leaving the ring and at a signal from the judges jump a further timed and shortened course. No height or winnings’ restriction.
Riders 14 years and under. Low jumps. Against the clock. Ponies may be led. Suitability of height or pony/horse at judge’s discretion. Pony and rider jump one round. Rider then dismounts and on foot, jumps over a shortened course (without the pony). Please have someone ready to hold your pony.
Riders 12 years and under. On or off the lead rein. Jumps 30cm – 50cm. Pick your own course and gain as many points as you can in 1min 30 secs. 10 bonus points will be given for each jump jumped with one hand on your head, or a very loud ‘yeeha’ over the jump (the judges need to hear you !).
Homemade costumes only. Rosette for best bling pony.

Ponies 14.2hh and under. Must be shown in a bridle. Class will be split according to age of child should numbers dictate.
Jumps not exceeding 40cm in first round. Combination not to have been placed individually 1st to 3rd at 60cm.
Those competing in Ring 4 may not enter classes 1 and 2.
Jumps not to exceed 60cm in the first round. Combination not to have been placed individually 1st to 3rd at 70cm.
Horses or ponies never having been placed first in any jumping event. Jumps not to exceed 70cm in the first round.
Jumps not to exceed 80cm in the first round.
Jumps will vary in height from 80cm-1m. Pick your own course, each jump is worth a fixed amount of points. Highest score within the optimum time wins.
Combination of horse and rider never being previously placed in a Showing Class. ( You will not be expected to canter in a group).
Retraining of Racehorses
There will be no jumping in this class.
14.2hh and under. Jumps will be a maximum of 70cm.
Horses 14.3hh and over. Horses will be ridden by the judge. Jumps will be a minimum of 90cm.

To be judged 65% on ride. 25% on conformation and 10% on turnout.
To be shown unplaited. Class will be split (by size) if numbers dictate.

No refunds at any time.
In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded in full minus any booking fees

1 The judge’s decision is FINAL. 2 Correct riding dress, including hard hats and boots/shoes with heels must be worn by all riders. Hats must conform to current BSI standards and must be fastened correctly. 3 The age of any competitor is as of the day of the show. 4 The judges reserve the right to disqualify any rider whom they consider to be under-horsed or unethical in any way. 5 In any dispute as to the height of a horse/pony a Height Certificate will be required. Similarly in a dispute as to a rider’s age, a Birth Certificate will be required. 6 All classes may be limited at the discretion of the organisers. 7 Entry fees cannot be refunded except on production of a medical or veterinary certificate. 8 The organisers are not responsible for any negligence, loss or damage to persons, animals, vehicles or property no matter how caused. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from such an incident . 9 Horses and ponies under 4 years may only be shown in hand (age taken from 1st May 2024). 10 Any competitor who falls in a jumping class will be eliminated and must report to the paramedics. 11 All entrants must have third party insurance. 12 For youngstock – age to be taken from 1st May this year 2024. (The horse or pony must not be older than 3 years on 1st May 2024). 14 Drawn order in jump-offs must be adhered to at all times. 15 Leading must be done with a lead rein only. Any leader handling the bridle/reins will result in disqualification for the competitor. 16 Classes 5-11 may be shown in hand or ridden. If ridden then hard hats conforming to current standards must be worn. If being led please see rule 15. 17 NO GALLOPING IS ALLOWED ON THE SHOWGROUND EXCEPT DURING CLASSES WHEN AND WHERE REQUESTED. 18 By participating in Tackley Horse Show all competitors hereby give permission to allow photographs of themselves to be used where appropriate by Tackley Horse Show Committee.
