Entry Conditions

SCHOOLING PERMIT RULES AND HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURE **PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING**

  1. Vehicles must display a current dated pass or risk being clamped by the National Trust. The pass is only valid for the day of issue.
  2. It is the responsibility of the rider to check that the jumps are clear of sheep and debris, and are damage free before use. Please note, there are active grazing rights on the land and sheep may be present. If sheep are in all or part of King’s Meadow, please be careful not to surprise each other, particularly when walking through the woods
  3. All riders MUST be accompanied by an ADULT – no lone schooling. The site is not supervised during opening hours.
  4. All people using SPC jumps should carry a first aid kit for humans and horses.
  5. All pass holders should have a mobile phone with them in case of an accident. However, please note that there are areas of the park with poor network coverage.
  6. Most jumps now have a grid reference and emergency veterinary contact details in the event of an accident.
  7. The daily pass entitles the named rider to use King’s Meadow Cross Country Course only. It does not allow riding in any other part of Ickworth Park. NO USE OF THE SHOW JUMPING RING IS PERMITTED, nor any other Pony Club equipment.

  9. All dogs must be kept on short leads at all times.
  10. Gates must be kept closed at ALL times.

  12. Two additional gates are available for emergency use (marked on the map). The combination for the lock is available from Jane Crawford (07813 281206)
  13. Riders must wear effective body protection for cross country jumping. It is strongly advised that the protection chosen should impede neither flexibility nor balance. Hats should comply with the current Pony Club safety standards with chin straps fastened at all times by all riders when mounted.
  14. Please note that waste material, i.e. droppings, bedding and rubbish, must be removed from the parking area by the permit holder.
