This show is open non-BDS members. However, only BDS members can be awarded Osborne Refrigerators qualifiers.

Please support the Show, which supports the Warfield Group of the RDA – it needs to be well-supported to continue to run in future years.

Event Classes

The following classes are available for the MOSS END – BDS-AFFILIATED WARFIELD DRIVING SHOW

Class 1
Pleasure Driving
For non-traditional and exercise vehicles (pneumatic tyres specifically designed for carriages i.e. not car tyres allowed). Horse or pony 4 years or over. This class will be divided if entries warrant. Prize to highest placed Junior whip. To be judged on safety, cleanliness of horse/pony and vehicle, and obedience of animal, also on ability and turnout of the whip. Neither animal nor whip should have won more than £30 in the previous year.
Class 2
Exercise vehicles - Singles (any height).
It includes qualifiers for the Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championship Driven in a non-traditional-type vehicle (pneumatic tyres specifically designed for carriages, i.e. NOT car tyres, are permitted). To be judged on general cleanliness, safety of turnout and correct fitting of harness.
Class 3
Open Whip driving any vehicle
Judged on driving ability and suitability of turnout.
CLASS 4
Veteran Horse/Pony, single, any height
For horses and pones 16 years and over on show day (please state age on entry form). The turnout may be driven to a traditional carriage or an exercise vehicle fitted with traditional wheels. The class to be judged on general condition of turnout and movement of animal.
Class 5
Concours d'Elegance
TRADITIONAL, NON- TRADITIONAL and TRADE VEHICLES.
Class 6
Light Trade.
This class has two O R qualifiers (see list on next page for details.) A single or pair of horses/ponies to be shown in a trade vehicle. No goods to be carried.
Class 7
Private Driving Singles 13.2hh and under.
It includes O R qualifiers (see list on next page for details)
Class 8
Private Driving singles over 13.2hh.
It included O R qualifiers (see list on next page for details)
Class 9
Pairs and tandems - open any height.
It included an O R qualifiers (see list on next page for details)

Late entries will be charged double fees for all classes unless another class has been previously entered

Class Information

RING 1 (starting at 9:30am)

 

Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will be judged by Alexandra Lanni

Championship for first and second prize-winners in classes 1, 2, 3, and 4.

 

Classes 5 will be judged by Penny Winstanley.

Championship for first and second prize-winners in classes 6, 7, 8 and 9.

 

LUNCH-BREAK At 1:15pm approximately. The following classes may start earlier, depending on morning entries

Osborne Refrigerators Championship

Osborne Refrigerators Championship

Classes Nos. 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are qualifiers for the 2019 Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships. This will take place will take place at Driving Addington on 21 September. The highest placed turnout owned and driven by a member of the British Driving Society and eligible for the following Type-Section/s, disregarding those already qualified down to 6th place will qualify for the 2019 Semi-Finals. The Championship will immediately follow the Semi- Finals. The Type-sections are:

a – Single hackney-type over 13.2hh
b – Single hackney-type 13.2hh and under
c – Single non-hackney-type (excluding pure-bred registered Welsh) – over 13.2hh
d – Single non-hackney-type (excluding pure-bred registered Welsh) –13.2hh and under f – Single pure-bred registered Welsh cob – section D
g – Single pure-bred registered Welsh ponies sections A, B and C
h – Single registered Mountain & Moorland (excluding pure-bred registered Welsh)
i – Pairs and tandems – open any height
j – Two-wheel light trade
k – Four-wheel light trade
l – Single or Tandem turnout driven to a two-wheel exercise vehicle
m – Single, Pair or Tandem turnout driven to a 4-wheel exercise vehicle

Victoria Food Company Private Driving Championship Qualifier

Victoria Food Company Private Driving Championship Qualifier

ONCE QUALIFIED, THE HORSE, WHIP AND VEHICLE MAY NOT BE CHANGED.

This is a Victoria Food Company Open Private Driving Championship qualifier. The champion will qualify for the grand final, to be held on Sunday 15 September 2019, at David Broome’s Event Centre, Mount Ballan Manor, Crick, Chepstow, Monmouth NP26 5XP . In the event that the champion has already qualified, then the reserve champion to qualify. If the reserve has also qualified, the rosette to be awarded to the champion.

Coming from Windsor on the B383, do NOT turn right at the little roundabout just over a mile after LegoLand – the entrance to the showground at Mount Apollo is just 300 yards beyond the roundabout on the right, on the B383.

Coming from Maidenhead, the road from Maidenhead to Bracknell (A330) goes past the Bird Hills Golf Centre. At the mini-roundabout just before the Centre, turn left, away from the Golf Centre, onto the Drift Road. Go a few miles to the end of the Drift Road, and you come to a T junction. Turn left, and you will very quickly reach a little roundabout on the B383. Turn right at the roundabout, and the entrance to the showground at Mount Apollo is just 300 yards beyond the roundabout on the right, on the B383.
