Unfortunately due to the current ground conditions and the poor weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Two Phase event until 7th September.

About this Event

Local friendly two phase (SJ and XC) competition open to everyone – young and old, little and large!

Competitors will show jump and then proceed directly to the cross country phase.

No Refunds after the withdrawal date for whatever reason. Before this date full refunds to be given.

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded in full minus any booking fees

Timetable

Times will be available by 10am on Friday 19th April via http://branches.pcuk.org/midantrim

The SJ and XC courses will be open for inspection between 4pm and 8pm only on Friday or from 8am on Saturday. Please park in the show jumping field (not in the yard at Laurel View).

Results will be published approximately 30 minutes after the end of each class, with 10 minutes allowed for any disputes regarding the results, after which the prize giving will take place at the caravan. We will endeavour to publish the results as promptly as possible. Results will also be updated live via the Pony Club Results website.

On site Facilities

Photos will be available to purchase after the event from: Tom at www.equi-tog.com/ . Photos may be published online or within promotional material after the end.

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Catering will be available on site.

Rules

SCORING

Show jumping faults will be awarded as follows:

1 refusal – 4 faults

3 refusals – Elimination

1 pole knocked down – 4 faults

Cross Country faults will be awarded as follows:

First refusal at obstacle – 20 faults

Second refusal at the same obstacle – 40 faults

Third refusal at same obstacle – Elimination

Four refusals throughout course – Elimination

Jumping the alternative ‘L’ obstacle – 15 faults (marked by a white circle with a red ‘L’)

Fall of rider – Elimination

Fall of horse – Elimination

Error of course not rectified – Elimination

Omission of obstacle or boundary flag – Elimination

Each second over/under the optimum time – 0.4 faults. Where places are tied on points, the higher place will be awarded to the rider closest to and below the optimum time.

Continuing with open chinstrap/no hat – Elimination

ACTION AFTER A FALL

Any competitor who has a fall or sustains an injury anywhere at the competition site MUST see the medical personnel on the day and be passed fit to ride before riding that horse in a further test or before riding any other horse.

Terms and Conditions

RULES AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

This competition will be conducted under Pony Club Rules for Eventing 2024. Each competitor is responsible for ensuring they are familiar with these rules.

The cross country will be scored against an optimum time and stopwatches must not be worn. See class details for speed and distance information – the XC should not be ridden at a gallop.

Competitors cannot start without declaring at the gate on arrival. Competitors should bring their own bibs and collect their number from the entrance gate. Bibs will be available to purchase for £5 on the day (please bring exact change).

A tack check will be completed ahead of show jumping. Competitors should SJ in their XC gear. After SJ please go directly to the XC warm up and start gates.

It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure they are wearing a jockey skull cap helmet with no fixed peak manufactured to the minimum specifications: PAS 015: 2011 with BSI Kitemark, VG1 with BSI Kitemark, Snell E2016 onwards with official Snell Label and Number, ASTM-F1163 2015 onwards with SEI Mark, AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards. Hats with titanium strips and peaks, which were designed for show jumping, are not recommended for cross country.

It is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure they are wearing a body protector which much meet BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label). If an air jacket is worn for cross country it must be worn in addition to a normal body protector which meets the required standard.

Jewellery – No jewellery is allowed for safety reasons.

Medical Armbands are not compulsory but are advised if competitors are on their own (available to purchase at the event).

It is the responsibility of competitors to ensure that tack and equipment is safe and suitable. Bitless bridles and hackamores are not allowed.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse participation by any competitor. Excessive use of the whip and strong language will not be tolerated. The Chief Steward will have final say on any disputes.

No horse/pony may compete more than once.

Any competitor eliminated on the cross country course should leave the course immediately at a walk if asked to do so by any Fence Judge or Official.

Schooling after the competition is not permitted.
