Launde Fun Ride

A ride across the area around Launde and Loddington north west of Uppingham that covers some simply breathtaking views given the higher elevations in the area. We will be riding over private land, through woods, the village of Loddington and through Launde Abbey Park and this is meant to be a lovely gentle ride at the start of the fun riding season. There will be minimal roadwork but all roads in the area are quiet country lanes. We feel very lucky to be able to put on this ride so early in the season given how wet it is at the moment, we can’t thank our landowners enough for allowing us to come.

The ride will now run between 9.30-12 start times only

The route will be marked, with stewards around the course and both a map and full parking instructions will be issued via email 36 hours or so before the event once entries close. Please remember you are riding on private land at the invitation of the landowners and as ever, take great care around any wildlife, wildflowers and crops/livestock. Please also ensure you clear up any droppings in the parking area. Please add who you wish to ride with in the “special requests” box so that I can group you together correctly. If you are aged 15 or over you must buy an adult ticket NO exceptions this year

• Times starting from first horses leaving at 9.30am, last horses depart at 12pm

• Booking closes Friday 3 May 2024 or earlier if the event is FULL.

• There are NO REFUNDS after entry, however you are welcome to sell on your tickets to get your own refund and I will help pass on details of sellers/buyers where I can.

• If we have to cancel due to it being too wet to park on the grass then you will receive a FULL REFUND less a very small admin fee charged by horse-events i.e. we will not retain any of your entry fee

• Cost: £25 Adults, Under 15s £15 – children must be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons

• Approximately 8-10 miles with breathtaking views riding across open private land, through woods, Loddington village and Launde Abbey park.

• Shorter routes are available via quiet country lanes.

All proceeds go to the Air Ambulance and the Cottesmore.

Parking is now at  Whatborough Farm, Oakham Road, Tilton on the Hill, Leic, LE7 9DJ (w3w: https://w3w.co/goes.songbirds.target).

There will be hard standing available for lorries and then for 4WDs/trailers we have on field stubble parking (on a hill and with a tractor if required) as overflow. We will also have people who are very helpful/able to turn vehicles around if needed so please don’t worry. Obviously if you can share lifts then that will make it easier with more space but I understand that often isn’t possible.

Numbers have been limited to allow us to park and we cannot thank our hosts enough for stepping in last minute to help us out.
