An annual Open Hunter Trials event on old turf, which offers a unique opportunity to ride in beautiful parkland. Because of the fabulous old turf, the going is normally good.

Open to Pony Club and non Pony Club members, including adults.

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded per class minus an admin fee of £5 (Booking fees are non refundable)

Entry information
  1. Open to Pony Club and non-Pony Club members, including adults.
  2. Ages are as 1st January 2024.
  3. Entries close Sunday 21st April 2024 or earlier if class is full.
  4. Enter online at www.horse-events.co.uk. No entries on the day.
  5. All entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee which will be stated online on a per class basis.
  6. £3 is included in the entry fee as a contribution towards paramedic cover.
  7. HC (Hors Concours) competitors may still take part in any class but will not qualify for prizes.
  8. Competitors to print own number and bring number bib. Numbers available on www.ponyclubresults.co.uk
  9. All classes will be drawn order. Running orders will be available from 8pm on 26th April on www.ponyclubresults.co.uk
  10. Full refunds will be given up until closing date (less booking fees paid). After the closing date refunds will only be made if replaced from the wait list. In the event of cancellation, full refunds will be given excluding any admin charges made by the booking agent.
  11. If you would like to edit your horse or rider details before the closing date of the event please login to your Horse Events account and edit your booking under the ‘MY BOOKING’ Tab.

  13. For ALL changes of horse and rider substitutions after the closing date please contact the secretary. There may be a small admin charge of £5.
  14. The course will be open for walking on Saturday 27th April from 2pm to 6pm.
  15. Prize giving will be dismounted in the mini ring or at the secretary’s tent following each respective class.
Entry Conditions
  1. Health & Safety: The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
  2. Legal Liability: Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
  3. The competition will be run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2024. Entry is taken as acceptance of these rules https://pcuk.org/media/nyipqhac/rulebook-eventing-2024-final_web-v050124.pdf (refer to cross country phase rules on page 55).
  4. The decision of the judges is final. Objections must be made to the secretary within 15 minutes of the incident.
  5. No outside assistance is permitted except in Classes 1 and 4.
  6. No hat or body mounted cameras.
  7. Hats must comply with current Pony Club 2024 rules. All hats MUST have a pink Pony Club/Riding Club Tag or BE/BRC hat tag. Hat tagging will be available on site but it is preferable to have your hat checked and tagged before the event to reduce delays They must be worn with the chin strap correctly fastened at all times when mounted.   8. Body Protectors are mandatory. Body protectors must meet BETA 2018 Level 3 standard (blue and black label). If you wear an air jacket you must wear a Level 3 body protector underneath. For further information visit https://pcuk.org/media/lg4d3aki/body-protector-rule-2024.pdf
  9. Medical Armbands – it is the competitor’s responsibility to wear a PC/BE medical armband if they have a medical condition that may impact on their care in the case of an emergency.
  10. No Horse or Pony may compete in more than two classes on the main course.
  11. The same horse or pony combination cannot compete in more than two consecutive classes in either ring. A horse/pony is permitted to compete in three classes at the event, as long as at least one of them is on the minimus course.
  12. Minimus course is for children except Class 3 Pairs and Class 7.
  13. No hoodies to be worn for riding.
  14. A whip, if carried, must be held by the handle at the top. The whip must be padded and between 45-70cm in length. The misuse of whips and/or spurs may result in elimination.
  15. A practice fence will be provided. Any competitor jumping any other fence on the field or course, except when competing, will be disqualified for the rest of the day.
  16. Bicester and Warden Hill Pony Club have the right to use photos for publicity purposes unless advised otherwise to the Secretary in advance.
  17. All competing horses must have had a yearly flu vaccination. Passports may be checked.
  18. NO DOGS allowed at any time please.
