These will be run across two arenas and will be outdoors away from the show jumping warm up!

Event Classes

The following classes are available for the South Hertfordshire & West Middlesex Pony Club Open Dressage & Show Jumping Competition

Class 1 - Santa’s Elves: TADPOLE Individual Show Jumping - Crosspoles Height - 40cm
All single fences. No spreads or fillers. Riders may not be led. Combination of horse/pony and rider entering this class may not compete in classes 3, 4, 5 or 6.
Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have been placed first in any show jumping competition at this height or above. Class will consist of Crosspoles only.
Class 2 - Santa’s Reindeer: MINI Individual and Team Show Jumping 60cm
Competitors jump only once for individual and team. All team entries to be made by branch DCs or team managers. Combination of horse/pony and rider entering this class may not compete in classes 4, 5 or 6
Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have been placed first in any show jumping competition at this height or above. Teams from Pony Clubs or Riding Clubs to consist of three or four riders, the best three scores to count. All team members must be entered as individuals..
Class 3 - Snowman Sprint: NOVICE Individual and Team Show Jumping 70cm
All team members must be entered as individuals. Competitors jump only once for individual and team. Combination of horse/pony and rider entering this class may not compete in classes 5 or 6.
Combination of horse/pony and rider not to have won a class at 90cm or above. Teams from Pony Clubs or Riding Clubs to consist of three or four riders. The best three scores will count. All team entries to be made by Branch DC’s or Team Managers.
Class 4 - Frosty Dash: ( Qualifier )INTERMEDIATE Individual and Team Show Jumping 80cm
Incorporating Pony Club Spring Festival Debut Qualifier
Teams from Pony Clubs or Riding Clubs or other organisations to consist of three or four riders. The best three scores will count. All team entries to be made by Branch DC’s or Team Managers. All team members must be entered as individuals. Competitors jump only once for individual and team.
Class 5 - Christmas Cracker: OPEN ( Qualifier) Individual and Team Show Jumping 90cm
Incorporating Pony Club Spring Festival Challenge Qualifier Height - 90cm. Open to all except combinations who competed in classes 1, 2 or 3.
To be run under the Pony Club Spring Festival Qualifier Jumping rules. Teams from Pony Clubs or Riding Clubs or other organisations to consist of three or four riders. The best three scores will count. All team entries to be made by Branch DC’s or Team Managers. All team members must be entered as individuals. Competitors jump only once for individual and team.
Class 6 - Sleigh-neigh Ride: OPEN Individual and Team Show Jumping 1:05-1.10m.
Open to all except combinations who competed in classes 1, 2 or 3.
Teams from Pony Clubs or Riding Clubs to consist of three or four riders. The best three scores will count. All team entries to be made by Branch DC’s or Team Managers. All team members must be entered as individuals. Competitors jump only once for individual and team
Class 7 - Advent Bolt: Pony Club Walk and Trot Dressage Test 2013
Open to all.
Special rosette to the highest placed 8 and under.
Class 8 - Jingle Bells: Pony Club Introduction to Dressage Test 2019
Open to all.
Special rosette to the highest placed 10 and under.
Class 9 - Holly Berries: Pony Club Novice Dressage Test 2020 Qualifier for the Pony Club Spring Festival
Class 10 - Mare-y Christmas: Pony Club Intermediate Dressage Test 2013 Qualifier for the Pony Club Spring Festival
Class 11 - Frankincense: Pony Club Open Dressage Test 2020 Qualifier for the Spring Festival

All entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee of £1.45 per class.

    • All classes will run to a strict drawn order of allocated times.
    • Failure to present at the correct time will result in elimination.
    • Times will be posted on www.horse-events.co.uk & https://branches.pcuk.org/ southhertfordshire/timings/ from 6pm, Wednesday 1st December 2021.
    • Please print your own A4 number and wear in a bib or pinned to your jacket on the day.
    • Avoid bridle numbers that may not be visible from the judge’s box.

Prizes & Rosettes

RESULTS, TROPHIES AND ROSETTES

Rosettes to 6th place in all classes for individuals and 4th place for teams.

Keeper trophies in all classes.

Results will be published on https://branches.pcuk.org/southhertfordshire/

AWARDS: An unmounted presentation will be held for each class as soon as the results are available. Please could prize winners present themselves in correct riding dress to receive their awards.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

RULES

  1. ELIGIBILITY This competition is open to ALL.
  2. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason. The competition is being run under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2021 http://showjumping-rule-book-2020-final. 
  3. The decision of the judges and stewards in all cases is final.
  4. Excessive use of the whip, including repeated slapping down the shoulder, is prohibited. The whip may be used a maximum of three times during any round.
  5. Use of the whip will be monitored and excessive use may result in elimination.
  6. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
  7. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.
  8. Non-Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third- party cover. South Hertfordshire & West Middlesex Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-members and their insurance will not cover you.
  9. Horses and ponies must be four years or older on the day of the show.
  10. All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire. Hats must be approved PAS015, EN1384 or BS EN1384 with BSI Kitemark and chin straps must be fastened at all times when mounted.
  11. All entries must be accompanied by the correct fee this includes the cost of Paramedic Cover.
  12. The Organisers reserve the right to alter the programme of events at their discretion and should the event be cancelled for any reason the Organisers reserve the right to retain a proportion of entry fees to cover their expenses.
  13. The same horse or pony may be ridden by two different riders in class 1 & 2 only. No one can compete more than three horses/ponies in the same class.

  15. No substitution of entries after the closing date.
  16. All individual and team entries to be made online to https://www.horse-events.co.uk/.
  17. Single Phase Competition (course in two parts with second part timed).
  18. Competitors to jump both parts unless eliminated. Faults to be accumulated.
  19. Teams may include riders riding more than one horse / pony.
  20. Teams to consist of three or four riders, best three scores will count. Competitors jump only once whether individual or team.
  21. In the interests of safety and the smooth running of the event, all competitors and accompanying persons MUST follow the instructions of show officials, and this includes directions as to the parking of vehicles.
  22. Horses/ponies tied to the outside of trailers/lorries must not be left unattended.
  23. The area around your horse box/trailer must be tidy and all droppings removed.
  24. Tying of haynets on the outside of trailers/lorries is not permitted.
  25. Dogs on a lead at all times.
COVID-19 REGULATIONS IF APPLICABLE
1. Everyone on site must adhere to Government guidance.
2. Social distancing AT ALL TIMES, anyone feeling unwell must NOT attend.
3. Park 5m away from the next vehicle.
4. Each rider may have only ONE supporter which may be a parent/driver/
groom. The supporter must be named on the Entry Form and checks will be made at the Lorry Park entrance. NO additional non-competing siblings or spectators are permitted. Children must not be left unattended at any time.
5. Warm-up arena will be stewarded and a maximum of five competitors (those due in jumping order) allowed at any time.
6. One supporter per competitor allowed in the warm-up arena.
7. The downstairs viewing is open to the supporter of the rider (no spectators).
8. There will not be a secretary on the day – any objections must be made by email to Sam Branley at southhertfordshire@pcuk.org no later than 4pm on the day of the competition.
9. SAFETY TACK INSPECTION – due to Covid-19 there will not be a tack inspection, but competitors (or the accompanying adult) are responsible for the safety of their equipment and compliance to Pony Club rules.
10. The cafe will be open – Face masks are mandatory in the café.
11. ARRIVE / COMPETE / LEAVE.
