Numbers may be limited. Combinations of horse/pony and rider can enter: dressage or showjumping or both, but horses and ponies can only compete in a maximum of 3 classes.
No member may ride more than 3 horses/ponies in the same class/competition
Competitors are expected to compete at their normal Pony Club level of eligibility, not below.
Competitors must supply their own numbers (available from Pony Club Results when the times have been released).
Where possible we will combine all individuals into teams unless requested not to be in a team in the special requests. Each team to consist of 3 or 4 members, best 3 scores to count.

The music may start either before the entry at ‘A’ or after the first halt and shall be provided by competitors on their own MP3 ‘stick’ preferably or CDs containing only the music for this particular competition. It is recommended that a second copy is kept by the competitor to act as a backup. If using CDs, competitors need to be aware that some CDRW discs cannot be read by all CD players so it is advisable to use CDR discs.

SHOWJUMPING CLASSES – Team and Individual unless stated otherwise stated
- All classes in all rings will run as single phase – Competitors will jump the whole course unless they are eliminated.
- Second part of the course will be timed and approx 5cm higher, faults to be accumulated over both sections
- Arena start times are provisionally 9:00 am but will be published on Pony Club results on 5th June
- Same horse/rider combinations may only jump in Ring 1 or Ring 2
- A competitor/horse combination may compete in 3 height classes BUT only once in each class.
- Each branch to provide an arena party whilst their members are jumping

RING THREE (Classes 22 – 27)
- The classes in Ring 3 are aimed at genuine novice combinations wishing to gain confidence and experience and particularly those who are inexperienced in jumping and wish to start competing
- Maximum age in Ring 3 = 14 years of age on 1st January 2025
- Lead rein competitors in Ring 3 MUST be led by 1 adult who completes the course at the pony’s shoulder
- Assisted competitors in Ring 3 MUST be accompanied by 1 adult in the arena
- For classes 25, 26, & 27 competitors MUST NOT be assisted in any way, either from the inside or outside of the Arena as this could lead to elimination
- Same horse/rider combination entered in classes 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 & 27 CANNOT enter Classes 13 – 21 in Rings 1 and 2.
- All competitors in Class 22, 23, & 24 will receive a rosette
Class 22 – Pony Club 30cm Lead Rein – 10 years and under (Arena 3)
Class 23 – Pony Club 30cm Assisted but NOT led – 10 years and under (Arena 3)
Class 24 – Pony Club 40cm Assisted but NOT led (Arena 3)

ROSETTES: Individuals to 6th place. Teams to 4th place if sufficient entries
Rosette to the best unplaced Rufford Member in each class
All competitors in Classes – 1, 2, 22, 23 & 24 will receive a rosette
PRIZE GIVING
Showjumping – individual and team (if applicable) unmounted prize giving will take place at the end of each class in the associated arena.
Dressage – individual and team (if applicable) unmounted prize giving will take place at the Secretary base approximately 30 minutes following the end of each class/section.
Please note – if a member is placed and competing in another class which clashes with the prize giving, the rosette(s) and/or score sheet will be available from the secretary (or another team member if this arrangement has been made).
As per the current rules, (16M SJ) (21L Dressage) – Competitors MUST be correctly dressed in their competition clothes for the prize giving.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Legal Liability: Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis
2. Health & Safety: Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards
3. The event will be run under Pony Club Dressage Rules 2025 and Pony Club Showjumping Rules 2025 (Rule books are either available online or from Amazon). It is the responsibility of the competitors to make sure that they understand and adhere to the rules. Please note there are additional rules in 2025 relating to the use of spurs, bridle clips and length of whips allowed and frequency of whip use. Copies of tests can be downloaded from the Pony Club website or are printed in the Rule Book.
4. The event venue stipulates all horses/ponies entering the event site must comply with 2025 Pony Club vaccination rules – passports must accompany all horses/ponies and spot checks may be undertaken – no horse or pony to
have been vaccinated within 7 days of the event.
5. Horses/ponies must not be left unattended outside at any time
6. Please ensure that the riding hat is tagged in line with the pony club rules (pink tags). Spurs will only be permitted if the hat is tagged with a yellow tag.
7. Classes 1 and 2 Dressage and Classes 22 – 25 SJ may be ridden in normal riding tack in line with the General Sport rules.
8. Any late changes to teams must be made to the Secretary 30 minutes prior to the advertised class time. NO substitutions after teams have been declared.
9. The organisers’ reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any class / amalgamate sections where there are insufficient entries or split classes if oversubscribed and reserve the right to disqualify anyone for misuse of the whip or spurs, dangerous riding or any horse/pony in poor or lame condition, and to refuse any entry for any reason at their sole discretion. The Judge’s decision is final.
10. The event will follow 2025 standard withdrawal and abandonment Rules: 7 and 8 (Dressage Rules) 4 and 5 (Showjumping Rules) regarding refunds – If a member, branch or centre withdraws a team or individual prior to the closing date for a competition, a full refund of entry will be made by horse-events, less an administration charge. Withdrawals after the closing date for competition will not be refunded.
11. In the event of a competition being abandoned, for whatever reason, a refund of 50% of the entry fee will be given.
12. Strictly NO mucking out onto the parking area.
13. NO prams/pushchairs, wheelchairs or mobility vehicles allowed in any warm up area or horse walks
