Cheshire Hunt South Tetrathlon

Class  Notes:

* The Organisers reserve the right to amalgamate the novice Tetrathlon classes back into the respective age group classes if there are insufficient entry numbers to make a separate novice class.

A member who is 8 years old is not classed as a Beanie and must enter the Tadpole class.

Ride Phase. This year we will run Cross Country Course on the “Old BE” course for 100cm, 90cm, 80cm & 70cm.  The 60cm and 40cm courses will be in a grass ring over the arena eventing fences to recreate the feel of cross country for the smaller ones.  We will benefit from all of the fantastic facilities at Kelsall Hill.  L-alternatives will be available, and there will also be option to ride the lower course and accept 500 penalties.

The objective is to provide a challenge to those who seek it whilst providing enough options for everyone to have an enjoyable, safe experience.

Ellesmere Port Sports Village is a fantastic venue for the triathlon, with ample parking; the pool is an 8 – lane competition pool with 300 seat viewing gallery – plenty of room  for cheering the competitors along! We also have use of a 10m mini pool (shallow).  The run phase for Triathlon entries will be on an athletics track, giving all competitors the chance to experience running on one.  Swim aids will be permitted for use in the in the mini pool to encourage participation, (No swim aids in the main pool).  Please note; if we are inundated with entries, we will consider a run phase for Tetrathlete entries on the Sunday at Kelsall Hill which will be a cross country run, but will keep Triathlete entries all on the same day. 

Tetrathlon Run Phase  – This will be at Kelsall Hill on Sunday. 

Swim Phase –

To swim in the main pool, members MUST be able to swim at least 1 length unaided, non-swimmers and novice swimmers must go in the mini-pool.  We are tight on available time for the swim phase, therefore, we may have to swim a few more of the little ones in the mini pool than we have previously done to ensure the big pool is used to complete all of the heats for the older ones.  So if your child is only just in the big pool, or wavering, or in need of an outside lane, for this year only, we might have to include them in heat in the mini pool, purely for expediency; thankyou for your understanding on this.  

Timings:  Should be published – Thursday 10th July 2025 on Pony Club Results.

Stabling & Overnight:  Arrangements can be made to stable with a Tet (friendly) family local to the area. Please contact kathryntierney1979@icloud.com (07793 560 349) to discuss your stabling requirements.  Stabling will be available on a first come first served basis.

Rosettes to 6th Place – Medals for best shoot, run and swim

The Triathlon presentation will be on Saturday at the Sports centre

The Tetrathlon presentation will be on Sunday at Kelsall Hill

To be run in accordance with 2025 Pony Club Tetrathlon Rules.

Legal Liability relevant to this event is covered by No. 16 in the Tetrathlon Rule book.

All Reasonable Adjustment requests will be considered.  The intention is to support all Reasonable Adjustments where possible.

The decisions of the judges are final throughout. For insurance purposes, all competitors must be paid-up members of their Pony Club branch. Hat Requirements – Vaccinations – Body Protectors – please check on the PCUK website for the latest requirements.

Objections: Any queries should be taken up with the phase steward at that point and no more than 30 minutes after the scores are put up or posted on the scoring link.

Objections must be made by the team manager only.

Shooting: Please make sure that you are very familiar with the latest Pony Club rules for shooting Section 35 SHOOTING RULES. This competition will be run in accordance  with all new safety procedures.

Photographic rights Competitors and their guardians give permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons taking part in the Pony Club events to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of The Pony Club and/or official sponsors of The Pony Club

Team competition –

This is a friendly Branch event and the Team competition is in 3 sections:

1. Triathlon Teams, any age or gender.

2. Tetrathlon Teams, Junior & Senior age group, any gender

3. Tetrathlon Teams, Minimus, Tadpole & Beanie, any gender.

We think this is the fairest way to encourage team participation across all member age groups.

Team Managers are to nominate Teams once entries are in and the entry window is closed.
