Refund, Withdrawals & Entry Changes

Withdrawal Date: 15/01/2024


Refund all entries in full any time up until the date of the event.

After the closing date no refunds will be made without a Doctor’s or Vet’s certificate produced no later than 24 hours after the event. If produced after this no refunds will be given.Refunds, where due after the closing date, are subject to an admin fee of £5.00

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel 50% of your entry fee will be refunded, minus any Booking fees.

Entry information

All entries should be made online using www.horse-events.co.uk.

Class numbers are restricted and classes may close before the closing date due to number of entries.

To complete your entry, you will need your membership number & the name of your Branch/Centre to enter a class.

Horse and rider changes before the closing date can be made online by logging into your Horse Events account and editing your entry under the ‘my booking’ tab.

Qualifiers

Branches/Centres may enter a team of three or four members in the Dressage Area qualifying competition. The team members can compete at different levels or all at the same level or a mixture of the two. A team must comprise of at least three members (i.e., one member may ride two horses) and the top three scores to count. The winning Branch/Centre team at each Area competition will qualify for the Barrier Spring Festival. If any of the individual qualifiers are in a qualifying team their place will be passed down the line.

Commanders are NOT permitted at the Area Competition. Substitutions of horse/pony or rider will not be accepted at Area Competitions or at the Final.

It is the responsibility of all parents / members to be familiar with the Eligibility Rules and ensure that they have entered into the correct class.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Multiple Horses – competitors may qualify a maximum of three horses for the Area Competition and two horses for the Final in any one class. In the event of a rider qualifying more than two horses for the Final, they must nominate which two they will take at the Area Competition. The other qualifying place will be passed down the line.

Multiple Riders – horses may be ridden by only one rider at Area Competitions and the final.

Multiple Levels – subject to eligibility, riders may qualify for both the Novice and Intermediate

Championships OR the Intermediate and Open Championships but cannot ride the same horse at both levels. If a combination qualifies for more than one level for the Championships, they must take the higher level forward, i.e., if they qualify for both the Novice and Intermediate Championships, they must take the Intermediate place and pass the Novice place down the line

Team information

The team competition is open to any member of any age riding at any level (with the exception of lead rein riders) subject to:

  • Riders who are competing in the series at Intermediate and Open level and/or have BD points at Novice level or above will ride the BD Novice 34 (2009) test.
  • Riders who are competing in the series at PC Novice or below and have no BD points at Novice or above will ride the BD Prelim 13 (2006) test.

Each team will be awarded points across the series. Prizes will be awarded to the top 6 teams and a trophy awarded to the overall winning branch at the final competition of the series in January 2024.

Lead rein riders may not enter any other class in the series.

Class 3 – Intro to Grassroots – is intended for younger riders who are riding at Grassroots level for the first time.They should not have represented their branch at Grassroots level before.

Rules

Please remember it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with the Pony Club rules. Event tack check is in place to ensure all riders compete safely.

DCs – Please ensure your members comply with 2023 eligibility re hat tagging and body protector and that a responsible adult is present.

Please print your own paper number or wear bridle numbers (one number on each side of the horse please).

Late entries may be accepted at the organiser’s discretion if numbers allow. Late Entry Surcharge £5.00.

Queries may only be raised to the Event Secretary by the DC or their appointee. Protests / objections will be managed as per Rule 50.

Photographic Rights – competitors and their parents/guardians have given permission for any photographic and/or film or TV footage taken of persons or horses/ponies taking part in Pony Club events to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of the Pony Club and/or Official Sponsors of the Pony Club.

A valid passport and vaccination record must accompany the horse/pony to this event and must be available for inspection if required by event officials. Prizes & Prize Giving

In each round points will awarded for the top six combinations in each class and an overall prize will be awarded to the points winners in each class at the end of the series. Rosettes will be presented to 1st – 6th in all classes.

There will be an unmounted presentation after each class. If competitors are unable to stay, a Branch representative may collect rosettes / sheets or competitors can provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope so that rosettes/sheets can be posted.

Terms and Conditions

Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

The Organisers of this Event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.
