About this Event

 

·       The Foundation Championship is focussed on those who have not ridden at PC80 and above.

·       The aim of the day is to allow all members to enjoy the fun of a Championship.

·       All classes will run under Pony Club rules

 Dressage & Showjumping (with mounted games)- classes up to PC70.

Lead rein/assisted classes- Leaders in lead rein competitions must follow the line taken by the pony and must be behind the animal’s head at all times. The rider must steer and be able to sit unsupported in the saddle. The lead rein must be connected to the noseband and not to the bit. Snaffle bridles must be used.

In the unfortunate situation of the event having to cancel all entries will be refunded per class minus an admin fee of £2.00 (Booking fees are non refundable)

FOUNDATION DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIP ALL TESTS CAN BE READ WALK TROT CLASS – Lead Rein Individual only class – ELIGIBILITY must not have taken part in the Spring Festival Dressage, Regional Championship or Area Qualifier (novice and above) classes within the past two years. WALK TROT CLASS (Unassisted) Mixed Level Team and Individual class – ELIGIBILITY must not have taken part in the Spring Festival Dressage, Regional Championship or Area Qualifier (Novice and above) classes within the past two years. Introduction to Dressage test 2019 and PRELIM PC70 CLASS Mixed Level Team and Individual class – ELIGIBILITY must not have taken part in Regional Championship or Area Qualifier classes within the past two years. Combinations may compete in a maximum of two of the above dressage classes within the day, but only once within a team. Mixed Team Competitions for Walk Trot, Intro and  PC70 classes Mixed Team competition is designed to enable branches to include riders of differing ages & experience in one team. A Mixed Teams of 3 or 4 can be made up of competitors from Walk Trot, Intro to Dressage and PC70 classes but not lead rein. Prior to entering, Branches DC will need agree a Team Name to enter online. In doing so, the DC will have certified the eligibility of horse and rider. All team riders will automatically count for an individual placings in their class providing they are eligible. Scoring Dressage – please see rule 50 in the Pony Club Dressage Rule Book 2024 Scoring for Mixed Level Teams from classes Walk Trot, Intro and PC70 Tests When all the tests have been totalled, the competitors in each arena shall be placed in order. Points shall be awarded to each competitor depending on their placing (1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points etc) relative only to other team competitors in that arena and not on their overall placing in that arena. The points for the three best placed team members shall be added together to give the team score. The winning team will be the team with the least points. In the event of equality of team scores, the collective scores of the three best team members are added together, the highest placed team is the one with the highest collectives. Competitors must be correctly dressed in their competition riding clothes (jackets etc) for Prize giving   SHOWJUMPING FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP The aim of this day is to allow all members to enjoy the fun of a Championship. Classes PC30, PC40,PC50, PC60 & PC70 combinations are not eligible if they have taken part in the Spring Festival Show Jumping, Regional Championship or Area Qualifier classes (eg. PC80 and higher) within the past two years. Combinations may compete in a maximum of two of the above show jumping classes within the day, but only once within a team.  Single Phase. Lead rein /assisted classes: Leaders in Lead Rein competitions must follow the line taken by the pony and must be behind the animal’s head at all times. The places would be decided by the best three scores in each team and, if equality persists, by the aggregate times of the three scoring competitors in each team. Individuals The winner will be the horse/rider combination who have the fewest jumping penalties and fastest time. Single Phase Show Jumping Competitions The course is in two parts. Having jumped the first part of the course, all competitors will immediately continue, even if they have faults (unless they have been eliminated), to jump the second part of the course, which is against the clock. The winner is the rider with the fewest (or zero) faults, accumulated over both sections, with the fastest time over the second part of the course. Maximum Time – twice the optimum time allowed to complete the course. Competitors must be correctly dressed in their competition riding clothes (jackets etc) for Prize givings. The scores from dressage class will be added to the scores from the showjumping class to create overall score. Note there is no entry fee for Combined Training- competitors will be automatically entered if they are doing both dressage and showjumping in the combinations noted below. CLASS 11- Walk Trot Test 2022 & PC 30 – LEAD REIN & ASSISTED Class 12- Walk Trot Test 2022 & PC 30 OR PC40 Class 13- Intro to Dressage 2019 & PC 50 or 60 Class 14- PC70 Dressage Test & PC70   FOUNDATION MOUNTED GAMES CHAMPIONSHIP This is an individual competition only, open to those who have also entered dressage or showjumping (or both). Terms and Conditions

 

1. Please view Pony Club website for Hat Rules http://www.pcuk.org/ . Please ensure your hat meets the new 2023 standards. Note we will have new pink hat tags available to tag hats.

2. Please ensure you are eligible for the class you enter.

3. The Judges Decision is Final.

4. Objections must be made in writing, accompanied by a £20 deposit to be refunded if the objection is upheld.

5. The organiser reserves the right to refuse or restrict entries. If the event is oversubscribed, current Pony Club members will be given priority.

6. In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, entry fees will be returned less £2 for administration.

7. No entry fee will be refunded without a veterinary or doctor’s certificate, after the withdrawal date.

8.Tack and competitors dress must meet the requirements in the Pony Club Dressage and Showjumping rule books.

9. The organisers do not hold themselves responsible for anything that may happen to competitors, spectators, their property, their horse or their helpers in connection with or arising out of this show. It shall be a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from any incident.

10. The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers, all officials and stewards.
