Event Classes

The following classes are available for the The Vine Pony Club – Individual & Team Showjumping Competition ****cancelled****

CLASS FOUR: 90-95cm
CLASS FIVE: 1m-1.05m

Entries and Entry Fees

ENTRY FEES: Individual: £18.00 per class inclusive of first aid cover.

All Classes are for Teams and Individuals and will be run as a single phase.

*Class 5 may be for Individuals only depending on entry numbers


Classes will be run under Pony Club 2022 Show jumping Rules.

ROSETTES to sixth place for teams and individuals in each class.



Withdrawal refunds given only on the receipt of a relevant doctor/vet certificate received by the Entries Secretary by 15th May 2022.

Cancellation Policy –  in the event of the event cancelling entries will be refunded minus an admin fee per entry of £5


1. Teams to be made up of 3 or 4 combinations, with the best three scores to count.
2. Substitutions allowed – please tell the Team Secretary (Entries before the day, if possible)
3. Pre-entries are essential as entries will be limited. If you miss the closing date please email the Entries Secretary for available spaces. A waiting list will be held if necessary.
4. Withdrawal refunds given only on the receipt of a relevant doctor/vet certificate received by the Entries Secretary by 15th May 2022
5. If the show is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, entry fees will be refunded less an admin charge of £5.00 per class.
6. TIMES WILL BE GIVEN – please see the Vine Pony Club Website from 19th May 2022. Please wait until the evening to see your times – they will be up ASAP.
7. Competitors may be asked to jump up to 15 minutes before their estimated time – please be ready. If you miss your turn, you may have to wait until the end of the class and will only be able to jump if time allows.
8. Competitor numbers MUST be visible at all times whilst mounted. All Pony Club members must have current hat tags. PLEASE PRINT NUMBERS AT HOME AND PROVIDE OWN NUMBER BIB
9. Warm up – the number of competitors will be restricted; please obey the steward’s instructions as to when you can use the warm-up rings. No lunging is allowed at Sparsholt College.
10. Children (under 16) must not jump in the warm-up arena without an accompanying adult.
11. Each horse/pony may only compete once in each class and in a maximum of three classes.
All horses/ponies must be at least 5 years old on the day of competition.
Stallions are allowed with prior permission from the Entries Secretary and must have stallion discs and ribbons on; any stallion ridden by a Pony Club member must have written permission from their DC/Centre Proprietor which must be emailed to the Entries Secretary.
12. Turnout for ALL riders and horses should be as in the Pony Club Rules for
Show-jumping 2022. Please contact the Entries Secretary BEFORE the show day for any queries re dress/turnout. Rules available on The Pony Club Website
13. SPURS: ALL spurs worn anywhere on the showground, by any competitor, must comply with Pony Club rules. Misuse of spurs by any competitor will be recorded and reported and may result in disqualification from the competition
14. Any abuse of horses/ponies, officials, other competitors or members of the public will not be tolerated and those found doing so will be asked to leave the venue with no compensation and may be reported to the relevant authority.
15. Judges’ decision is final. Any objection must be handed to the Show Secretary in writing with a £30 deposit (which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld) within 15 minutes of the incident and BEFORE the results announcements for that class.
16. INSURANCE; please ensure that you have adequate/appropriate insurance for rider, horse, property and third party.
17. PHOTOGRAPHS: by entering this competition you are agreeing to be photographed whilst competing; these photographs may be used for future publicity.

If you do not wish to be photographed please tell the photographer on entering the arena, before you jump.
18. Participants attend at their own risk; neither the Committee nor Sparsholt College will be liable for any loss, damage or accident to horses, riders, property or other persons.
19. No horses/ponies should be left tied to the outside of trailers/lorries without supervision. Please clear any muck/rubbish and do not leave it in the lorry park.

This event is being organised by Vine Pony Club. Equine Bookings is acting as the booking agent for this event, enabling you to book online, for which you will be charged a booking fee per space which will be added to your cart.

As booking agents, we accept no responsibility for the actual provision of any event for which you purchase event tickets for. Our responsibilities are limited to providing the online platform to enable you to purchase tickets. The booking fee is the separate non-refundable charge we make to you for facilitating the booking. Your contract is held with the Promoter/event organiser.

We only share your data with that of the third party organiser of the specific event you entered. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Venue Information

The Equine Centre provides a professional teaching environment for all courses at all levels of study. The facilities include: Stabling for up to 75 horses; a 60m x 23m indoor arena; three outdoor arenas (70m x 50m with Olympic-standard surface; 60m x 30m; 60m x 30m); covered horse walker; grass rides; cross country schooling fences; weigh bridge.

The Equine Centre is a British Horse Society (BHS) approved examination centre endorsed by the ‘Where to Train’ guide. Horses are carefully selected by either purchase or loan to provide students with the opportunity to develop a range of riding skills and provide a diverse research population for projects and dissertations.

The facilities include:

  • Stabling for up to 75 horses
