The Organising team are concentrating on running the event this weekend. They will be in touch with all teams as soon as the event has concluded to confirm appropriate refund details where applicable for teams who w/d from the new date.

“As you are aware the National Team Chase Championship and Fernie Team Chase 2023 has been rescheduled for Saturday 15th April.
All entries for the original date will be held over to the new date, and we look forward to welcoming you on the day. We are asking Team Captains to make any updates, amendments or changes to their team via the Horse Events page by this Saturday 8th April (8pm). Changes can only be made thereafter by emailing the Event Secretary at fernieteamchase@gmail.com
For any Team Captain who is keen to compete but is short of one or two team members, please let us know via fernieteamchase@gmail.com and we will do what we can to align you with other individuals who have let us know that they wish to compete.
For those who are not able to compete on the new date, and wish to withdraw completely, we require confirmation of your withdrawal by not later than 2pm on Thursday 6th April. This may enable those team spaces to be taken up by others for the rearranged date. In the event that we are able to fill the space of the withdrawing team a refund equivalent to the original entry fee less an administrative charge of £20 will be paid to the Team Captain. Where the space is not filled before the deadline for entries (on Saturday 8th April at 8pm) we regret that the administrative charge will have to be increased to £40 in the event of a team’s withdrawal, from the original date.
We are grateful for your support in these difficult circumstances and look forward to an excellent day’s Team Chasing on Saturday 15th April.

THE WELLAND VALLEY FEEDS NOVICE – Entry charge: £140 per team
THE NATIONAL TEAM CHASE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 – Entry charge: £170 per team
THE 20th ANNUAL UK HUNT TEAM CHASE – Entry charge: £150 per team
THE RETRAINING OF RACEHORSES FERNIE INTERMEDIATE – Entry charge: £150 per team
Entry fee includes a £5.00 MFHA Levy. All entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee of £4.00
Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Entries received after the close of entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Event Organisers, and will be subject to a late entry fee.

Class Details, Prizes & Trophies
THE WELLAND VALLEY FEEDS NOVICE
To start at approx. 9.30am. The course is 11⁄4 miles long, with about 17 inviting & well-built natural cross country fences, height 2’9” – 3’0”. The class will be judged against the optimum time.
Prizes: The Fernie Puppy Cup to the winning team. Prizes in kind.
Rosettes : to 10th place
A Special Prize will be awarded to the highest placed ‘Young’ team consisting of 2 or more Riders who are all aged 16 and under.
The NATIONAL TEAM CHASE CHAMPIONSHIP 2023
To start at approx. 12 noon. The course is 2½ miles long with about 29 inviting & well-built fences. Teams must have been placed in the top 5 places of an Open class during the 2022/23 season (i.e. between Sunday 17th April 2022 and Sunday 26th March 2023) and be suitably experienced for this level of competition. Further details on the entry form.
Prizes: 1st – £500, 2nd – £240, 3rd – £160, 4th – £80 – subject to 12 or more teams starting.
Rosettes to 10th place.
The Goring Hotel Challenge Cup to the winning team.
The Junior Cup will be awarded to the most promising Young Rider, at the discretion of Debbie Topping and the Stewards on the day.
Additional prizes donated by Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) will be given to owners of ex-racehorses running under their former racing name who are registered with RoR.
The owner of the horse(s) who completes the course in the highest-placed team will receive £75; 2nd placed team – £50.
If there is more than one RoR registered horse within a team, each ex-racehorse with receive a similar prize.
Riders must state their horse’s ‘Racing Name’ at point of entry.
Prizes will only be awarded to RoR registered horse where it has be possible to check their eligibility with the RoR office.
THE 21ST ANNUAL UK HUNT TEAM CHASE
To start at approx. 2.00pm. The course is 1¾ miles long, with over 26 fences height approximately 3’6”. This class will be judged on a timed section over about ¾ mile. Eligible teams must consist of three or four riders, with no more than 1 team member having ridden in the Team Chase National Championship in the last 3 years. All riders must be subscribers from one Hunt only and must provide a certificate to that effect from the Master of their Hunt (see entry form for further details). Riders must be aged 16 or over.
Prizes: 1st – £400, 2nd – £200, 3rd – £100, 4th – £60 – Prize money will be paid directly to the team’s Hunt.
Rosettes to 6th place.
The Admiral Hill Founders Cup to the fastest Adjacent Hunts team with other special prizes.
The Henry Beeby Cup to the Best Fernie Team with other special prizes.
THE RETRAINING OF RACEHORSES FERNIE INTERMEDIATE
To start at approx. 3.15pm. The course is 1¾ miles long, with over 26 fences height approximately 3’6”. The Fernie Intermediate is an Allcomers class judged against the clock. Riders must be aged 16 or over.
Entry charge: £150 per team
Prizes: 1st – £200, 2nd – £100, 3rd – £80, 4th – £50 – subject to 10 or more teams starting.
Rosettes to 6th place.
The Fernie Cup to the overall winner of the ‘Speed’ section.
Prizes of £50 have been donated by Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) and will be given to competitors riding a RoR registered horse running under their former racing name in the winning team. If there is more than one RoR registered horse within the team, each competitor in that team will receive a £50 prize
General Information inc Prize Giving : Number Cloths :
Prize giving:- There will be a prize giving for the Novice and Championship after the conclusion on the 2023 National Team Chase Championship and for the Inter-Hunt and Intermediate classes after the conclusion of the Intermediate. Prize winners will be contacted by email for BACS details.
Number Cloths & Equipment Checks:- Competitors should provide their own number bibs. A pack of A4 numbers on coloured inserts will be provided by Organisers. Body protectors must be worn. Approved and kite-marked crash hats must be tagged. Checks will be made in the collecting ring and by Stewards randomly.
Times & Course Walk

Course Walking:- The courses may not be walked without the Organiser’s consent at any time before 4.00pm on Friday 14th April
Catering, Refreshments & Tradestands:- There will be a licensed bar with hot and cold refreshments and trade stands.
Weather:- In case of poor weather conditions please check the website and social media channels.
Withdrawals, Substitutions & Insurance
Refunds:-Full refund up until closing date, after closing date refund only if replaced from the wait list.
An administration fee of £25 per entry will be deducted.
Event Cancellation:- In the event of cancellation more than 1 week before the event is scheduled to run 50% of entry fees will be refunded. If the event is cancelled less than 1 week before the event 25% of entry fees will be refunded.

This event is being organised by Fernie Team Chase Committee. Equine Bookings is acting as the booking agent for this event, enabling you to book online, for which you will be charged a booking fee per space which will be added to your cart.
As booking agents, we accept no responsibility for the actual provision of any event for which you purchase event tickets for. Our responsibilities are limited to providing the online platform to enable you to purchase tickets. The booking fee is the separate non-refundable charge we make to you for facilitating the booking. Your contract is held with the Promoter/event organiser.
We only share your data with that of the third party organiser of the specific event you entered. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. The Organisers of the events published on the Horse Events website have all agreed to the following statement before we published the event and give them access to your data for the purpose of entering their event.
