Horse Events ODE Vaccination Policy

Following the recent outbreak of Equine Influenza & advise from the BEF the following Policy has been put in place. This Policy will be constantly reviewed and updated as necessary.

All horses must be vaccinated for Equine Influenza within the last 12 months before entering the venue.

It is strongly advised that horses have a booster if they have not been vaccinated in the last six months.

If a horse has had a vaccination recently there must be six clear days between having the booster and arriving at the venue.

If a course of vaccinations has been started or restarted, the second vaccination must have been administered between 21 and 92 days after the first. before entering the venue, again leaving six clear days between having the second injection and arriving at the venue.

All Horses entering the venue including Companion horses MUST have a valid passport containing its vaccination certificate. Failure to produce this will result in you and any other horses travelling with you to be turned away. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN.

Please follow the British Equestrian Federation advice. If you have any concerns on the health of your horse please contact your veterinary surgeon.

School Equestrain Games Eventing Championships

The SEG Eventing Championships is a series of ODE’s around the country to give children the opportunity to compete for their schools and qualify for the Schools Equestrian Games Eventing Championships.

This will be a prestigious new event for 2019 and will be the recognised Eventing Championships for all schools, we welcome international schools to compete as well.

How to Qualify

  • Throughout the season the competitions are individual qualifiers -teams will then be made at the championships if schools have enough members from their school who have qualified individually to make up a team.
  • Teams- Maximum of 2 teams per school per height at the championships.
  • Top 8 qualify if section starters 30 or less, top 10 qualify if more than 30 starters per section.
  • Qualification is passed down the line in the event that those placed have previously qualified.
  • The same horse and rider combination qualify- no substitutions can be made.
  • Each competitor rides for the school they currently attends – school leavers (17/18 years) ride for their previous school.
