Open to All – 10 years Old and Under & ***Added Section for 11-14yr Olds***
*****Competitors must not have won a competition at 60cm or above in any discipline. ****

 

The Event has been created to give those with little or no cross-country experience, a taste of Eventing!

A HHPC Instructor will also be on hand to help if required.

All entries are subject to a non-refundable booking fee which will be stated online on a per class basis

ABOUT THE EVENT

No combination may compete in more than two classes. Riders may not ride more than 2 ponies. A pony may be ridden by 2 riders in the same or different classes, but no pony may compete in more than 2 classes in total.

The course will comprise of 5 show jumps then onto the XC which will be 7-10 XC obstacles finishing over a show jump.

ALL classes will be judged as an accumulator- each fence is worth the value of the fence number ie 1= 1 point, 2 = 2 points etc. If you refuse at a fence or choose to miss it out, you get 0 points for that fence/obstacle. The water will be optional for all classes.

If several competitors finish on the same score, the rider closest to the bogey time wins.
The course will be available for walking from 1400 on Sunday 17th 2022 and then course walks will be slotted into the timetable at regular intervals.

This Event is the first of our ‘Mini Eventer Series’.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

This event is open to ALL. Pony Club members will be covered on PC insurance, non-pony club members
must be covered by their own insurance.

The decisions of the Judges and of the Organisers are final and the competition will be run under The Pony Club Eventing Rule Book 2022

No combination may compete in more than two classes. Riders may not ride more than 2 ponies. A pony may be ridden by 2 riders in the same or different classes, but no pony may compete in more than 2 classes in total.

HARD HATS must be worn at all times, with chinstrap fastened, when mounted and must conform to PAS015:1998 0r 2011 with BSI Kitemark, VG1 with BSI Kitemark, Snell E2001 or AS/NZS 3838 1998, 2003 or 2006 standard. ALL HATS MUST BE/BRC/ PONY CLUB TAGGED. (2018 AQUAMARINE TAG). Jockey skullcap be worn for XC riding, no fixed peaks. No recording devices or stopwatches are permitted.

BODY PROTECTORS LEVEL 3 must be worn cross-country. BETA 2009 (purple label) or BETA 2018 level 3 standard (blue & black label). Air jackets may be worn in addition to a body protector, but not on their own. BODY CAGES: keys must be left with the organiser who will give them to the medical team.

DRESS –Pony Club sweatshirt or XC colours. No earrings allowed. Anyone assisting (i.e. leading/running alongside a competitor) must wear appropriate clothing and footwear

This event is OPEN to members of the Pony Club and non-members with their own insurance cover. Competitors take part at their own risk

NO DOGS on site.

ELIMINATION: Competitors must leave the course at a request from a Fence Judge or Official following either three re- fusals at one fence or taking the wrong course.

 

 

WITHDRAWALS & REFUNDS

WITHDRAWAL: No entry fees will be refunded for withdrawals after the closing date unless a veterinary certificate is presented. In any event £6 will be retained to cover administration costs.

CANCELLATION: In the event of cancellation entry fees will be returned, less £6.00 per competitor via horse-events.

FROM SHIPSTON ON STOUR

Take the B4035 towards Shipston, go through Brailes, up a long hill and eventually there are two right turns to Sibford. Immedi- ately after the second there is a Cross Roads on a corner, left to Shutford and right to Sibford Ferris – Turn right, go over next cross roads and Swalcliffe Park Equestrian is half a mile down the gated road.

FROM BANBURY:

Take the B4035 towards Shipston on Stour go through Swalcliffe village, up the hill. Take next left towards Sibford Ferris and then the next left. Swalcliffe Park Equestrian is half a mile down this gated road.

FROM CHIPPING NORTON AND HOOK NORTON

Turn left at the Pear Tree Inn, Hook Norton and right at Firs Garage. Follow the road to Banbury. At Wigginton Heath Cross- roads turn left and after 100 yds turn left again down a 3-ton limit gated road. Swalcliffe Park Equestrian is a mile down this road.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE RUNNING THIS EVENT IN THE MINI’S SCHOOLING FIELD. SUBJECT TO WEATHER, PARKING WILL BE IN THE FIELD NEXT TO THE COURSE. PLEASE FOLLOW SIGNS.

Built by 4**** course builder Richard Taylor, Swalcliffe Park is decorated with numerous feature fences such as the infamous caterpillars, the Ariat ducks and new for 2013, the Blenheim fox; each creating a real educational experience for horses and riders of all ages!

With over 150 fences ranging from 50cm to 1.10m (Novice height), combinations including three water complexes, banks and ditches over undulating ground, Swalcliffe Park has something to offer everyone looking to go cross country schooling.
