Thank you for choosing to visit Larkhill Equestrian.  We hope you have a great visit.  Please understand that although restrictions have been further eased, life has not yet returned to normal and schooling still cannot take place with the same freedoms that you are used to.  Restrictions and freedoms may change between making your booking and the day of your schooling.  You are asked to comply with the rules for schooling on the course that apply on the day you visit Larkhill Equestrian.  We will happily receive feedback on how to improve the schooling experience but we ask that you respect our staff and follow their instruction.  If you do not, you will be asked to leave the course.  If problems persist the course will be closed.  We are relying on your co-operation to continue to be able to offer schooling at Larkhill Equestrian and we look forward to seeing you on the course.

You will be set off at 10 minute intervals.  There will be a flat warm up area, and a warm up area with jumps prior to the start.  You will be asked to move through the warm up areas prior to going through the start.

LARKHILL EQUESTRIAN CROSS COUNTRY SCHOOLING COVID-19 POLICY

We are pleased to announce that Larkhill Equestrian is to reopen for XC schooling.  Following the 11th May publication of the Government’s guidance paper Our plan to rebuild: The UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy, and subsequent BHS and BEF advice, we feel it is appropriate and safe to open for limited activity.  Available dates will be published on our website www.larkhillequestrian.co.uk ; booking will be online at www.horse-events.co.uk .

What has changed?  Riders are now permitted to transport horses to a venue for an individual lesson or facility hire outdoors. Riders may only travel to the venue with someone from their own household.  At the venue, riders may meet with one other person from outside their household, who may be a coach or other participant, as long as social distancing and hygiene practices are followed.  You should consider the risk of your activity, particularly riding your horse within your capabilities and the fitness levels of both you and your horse.

Welcome back.  We therefore look forward to welcoming back our fantastic supporters.  We must however ask you follow these specific guidelines, if we are to successfully regain access to this wonderful sport, without endangering the health and welfare of ourselves and those around us.

  • Enter Salisbury Plain Training Area from the east via tank crossing “C” from the A345. Further information can be found on our website.
  • All horse boxes and trailers are to be parked on the right as you enter the Larkhill Equestrian site. Posts will mark each parking bay.  Individual cars are to park on the left of the entrance track and be spaced at least 5m apart.
  • You must follow current government guidelines.
  • You must maintain current social distancing and hygiene practices.
  • You may meet with one other person from outside of your household who may be a coach or other participant.
  • Keep to your time slot and stay on the course for a maximum of one hour.
  • Larkhill Equestrian’s current rules remain in force.
  • No group lessons.
  • No cars at the start or on the XC course.
  • No dogs on the site.
  • No spectators.
  • Note there are no toilet facilities available.
  • You must not visit Larkhill Equestrian if you or any member of your household have COVID 19 symptoms.

Please be patient and understand this is not yet life returning to normal.  There will be limited bookings available and access to the course will be more tightly controlled.  At all times follow the instructions of Larkhill Equestrian and Salisbury Plain range staff and give way to military training.
