Includes 70, 80 & 90cm qualifiers for the NSEA Eventers Challenge Championships at Hickstead.

A non refundable booking fee of £1.25 is charged per rider per entry.

Individual Rosettes: 1st – 6th place in each section of the Mini, Novice, Intermediate and Open classes

Trophies: For the overall Team Winners of each Class (NSEA and Pony Club combined)
Souvenir Rosettes: Presented to all Mini Class competitors.
About the Competition
The Mini course is a single phase made up of SJ and XC fences and all competitors will not be timed but will be placed according to Style Marks awarded for the following:
General riding position- 25 marks
Control and pace- 25 marks
Use of correct jumping lines- 25 marks
The Novice, Intermediate and Open course is made up of SJ and XC fences with an optimum time & no style marks. Riders will jump a series of show jumps and then proceed immediately into the XC phase which is run on an optimum time. Jumping penalties have priority over time faults – so ideally, you need to go clear to win! Top two Teams and Individuals to qualify for the Eventers Challenge Championship 2018, at the All England Jumping Course, Hickstead.
Jumping penalties are awarded as follows….
Knockdown (to include SJ fences)- 4 penalties
1st Refusal- 4 penalties
2nd Refusal- 8 penalties
3rd Refusal- Elimination
1st Rider Fall- Elimination
Horse Fall- Retirement
Starting before the bell /Error of course- Elimination
Retaking an obstacle already jumped- Elimination
Every commenced second over or under the optimum time- 1 Penalty
Exceeding time limit (3 times the time allowed)- Elimination
In the event of a tie, the competitor closest to the optimum time will be the winner. If teams are tied, the times of the 3 best scores closest to the optimum time will be the winner.
Team and Individual Classes
Teams of 3 or 4, best 3 scores to count. All riders automatically count as individuals. Horse/Pony & Rider combination must never have been placed 1st in any BE, Riding Club, Pony Club or similar event at the fence heights for the class. Riders competing in the Novice, Intermediate and Open Classes can not compete in any of the Mini Classes.
The Novice, Intermediate and Open classes will be run under an optimum time, Speed 325-375 metres / minute. Times and distances will be published on the day of course walking.
The Mini course is not timed.
No timing equipment (including watches) may be worn, carried or used by riders during their round.
NSEA General & Competition Rules 2017-18
NSEA / BE Eventing Rules for tack and rider equipment for XC. It is the responsibility of all parents/riders to ensure riders are wearing the correctly named and lled out medical armbands whilst competing.

HARD HATS/BODY PROTECTORS
Body protectors are compulsory. Hair must be above collar length, long hair to be kept in place in a hair net. Rider must wear BE approved skull caps, no xed peak SJ hats.
Stabling and Accommodation

The Event Village
There will be a vet in attendance along with a tack shop, selection of hot refreshments and of cial photographs available for purchase on the day. Dogs must be kept on a short lead and under control.
Foxhill Farm is located in the unspoilt countryside of South Northants midway between Banbury, Brackley and Towcester. Owned and run by Lesley Smith, this family business offers the perfect environment for you to ride to your full potential.
Set in beautiful countryside, livery owners have the opportunity to hack down endless bridleways, byways and quiet country lanes, as well as having the perfect setting to prepare for competitions throughout the year.
Instruction on your own horse can be provided by Lesley Smith; a qualified and highly experienced instructor. Group and individual lessons are available in all disciplines for every age and ability.
Foxhill offers a wide variety of equestrian facilities and services, including:
- 70m x 40m all weather menage
- Full set of competition showjumps
- XC schooling course designed and built by Hugh Lochore
- Regular training days, clinics and competitions
- A purpose built American barn housing stabling for 23

The cross country course is open for schooling throughout the year. The location of the course is on well draining permanent pasture and will only be closed in very severe weather.
The course was built and designed by Hugh Lochore, one of the UK’s leading course designers. It includes a wide variety of fences from 2ft to 3ft 6ins. The design incorporates many of the types of fences often used in British Eventing courses. These include corners, arrow heads, sunken road, bank complex, training ditches, trakehner, and a water complex with a wide variety of options to both enter and exit the water.
The permanent fences have all weather take off and landings.
Reservation of Right
The Organisers reserve the right to:
• Cancel the event, in which case entry fees will be refunded
• Alter the Show Jumping/Cross Country course if necessary
After Wednesday 11th October 2017 fees will only be refunded on presentation of a veterinary or medical certificate.
Any objections must be handed to the Organiser/Secretary, with a deposit of £10.00 within 10 minutes of the results being published.
Health and Safety
The Organisers of this event have taken every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of everyone and the Event Paramedic Services will be providing medical cover.
For measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and MUST obey the instructions of the Organisers and the Of cials and Stewards.
No responsibility can be taken by the organisers for any accident or damage to competitors,attendants, animals, spectators, or their property, or vehicles of any description.
By entering this competition, the exhibitor of any horse or pony accepts that Beachborough Eventer Challenge, the organiser or any of the of cers of the show will not be held responsible or accountable for anything that may happen from any cause or circumstance whatsoever to any persons, exhibitors or their servants or to any animal or article or property brought into the show ground at Foxhill Farm, Eydon.
